Thanks to generous donations from local businessmen Paul Abbott and Paul Roberts, the Society has reached its £75,000 target for the Aphra Behn statue. We are hugely grateful to them and to the many hundreds of people all over the world who over the past two years have contributed so munificently to the project. Discussions with the City Council about Aphra’s exact positioning and installation are at an advanced stage, and we hope to have details of that and the unveiling ceremony before too long.
