As part of the celebrations welcoming the loan of the Bayeux Tapestry to this country, CCS and the Canterbury Shakespeare Festival are staging a brand new historical drama, The Tapestry, on November 12, 13, & 14, 2026.

The play, written by well-known author Stewart Ross, is set in Canterbury, 1065-66: “As the ‘saintly’ King Edward lies dying, the mood in Hilda’s mead hall is dark; behind the scenes, Queen Edith schemes with corrupt clerics to save herself and the city – and thwart the ambitions of her hated brother Harold.”
