Aphra welded and blasted

The Society’s statue of Aphra Behn, playwright, poet and spy, is almost finished. After being cast in sections, the piece was welded together and sand blasted (hence her pale complexion) to give a uniform finish. All being well, she will be coloured (deep bronze), polished and installed in Canterbury High Street in April or May.
