On 4 September 2025 the Lord Mayor unveiled eight blue plaques on the Longport wall of St Augustine’s Abbey. The Society worked with the Canterbury Society and the Nubian Jak Trust to bring this about. The plaques commemorate people associated with the long history of the Abbey, from St Augustine to the 20th century. This is probably a world first – a series of plaques on one building!
