Restoring the Alluvia statues

Restoring the Alluvia statues

Little known and often hidden by weeds, two beautiful statues – Alluvia – lie on the bed of the River Stour beside the Westgate Tower. They are early works by Jason deCaires Taylor, the world-famous sculptor of underwater art.

Working with Canterbury City Council, the owner of the statues, we are taking advantage of a very generous offer from Jason to have the statues raised, repaired, cleaned, and replaced in the river. They will also be lit by a new system using solar panels. A new, larger and clearer panel will direct locals and tourists to one of Canterbury’s hidden gems.
